Olympic Day Run

ARMENIAN SPECIAL OLYMPIAN WINS THE FIRST PLACE IN THE OLYMPIC DAY RUN

  

On June 26, 2010, Spartak Hakobyan, a special athlete of Special Olympics Armenia, took part in the running competition organized by the National Olympic Committee of Armenia. The event was dedicated to the International Olympic Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia. It aimed to promote the principles of the Olympic movement and healthy lifestyle.

 

Over 2,000 people in seven age groups above 13 years old took part in the event. Spartak, who competed in 26-40-year-old category, won the first place and received a certificate as well as a monetary award.

 

Spartak is very active in Special Olympics. He took part in 2009 SO World Winter Games in the USA and 2007 SO World Summer Games in China, where he won the 2nd prize in Athletics.
